Initial Concept
The Ride The Wave design was based on the idea that no matter what comes and goes in our lives, we can always choose to enjoy the ride.
Like waves, the ups and downs in our lives are temporary, and we shouldn’t let one big wave knocking us down prevent us from getting back up again.
A Part of My Story
For a lot of my life, I have been easily discouraged by failure or things not going the way I planned them in my head. Whether it was feeling lost in school, not getting opportunities I really wanted for my business, or being let down by people in my life that I thought I could rely on, these things would all have a huge impact on my mental health.
Choosing to not let my life story be written by things beyond my control was so freeing for me, because it showed me that no matter what happened, I was going to be okay.
Rather than fighting the waves that come, I can choose to let them roll over me, and I always end up stronger for it.
Design Process
The first thing that came to mind for this design was incorporating the three surfboards for each of the words, giving that physical reminder of riding the waves of life. I also chose a super simple little wave design for the front!
While this design may feel beachy and surf-themed, the reminder is meant for everyone!
